Favorites Friday VERY special edition: Sherlock exhibit at the Denver Natural History Museum
Hey guys, I am in Denver and loving the different surroundings. But guess what??? THE SHERLOCK EXHIBIT ROCKED!!!!! In order to get what I mean, here are pictures. I put them into an album and realized that I have 49 of them, so this might end up being a two parter. So, first part, I guess.
This shed structure was for the exhibit participaters/super sleuths to look around for clues that might help them in their case. Again, just wandering, and doing A LOT of fangirling, so just bear with me here.
First shot at the door. I was just excited at the epicness of it, so I guess it's a great intro picture.
The moment I walked in it was right by the door and I just fangirled and turned into a squealing ball of freakish energy. Turns out that this was the VERY CAR that Robert Downey Jr. Drove in Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows. Like, THE CAR. It was the closest I have ever felt to a real celebrity. Anyway, moving on:
So, okay, this isn't really going to be the exhibit in order, cause I was just wandering around and not paying attention to the "case" that people were solving as a part of the exhibit, so please don't expect everything to be perfect.
Side shot of exhibit.
I had no idea what this was, but it was glowing, and had something to do with chemicals but what the heck. It looks cool.
It looks grainy, I know, but people came dressed up as characters from Sherlock, and I was fangirling like nuts. I actually went to the lady in the white coat and complemented her Molly Hooper costume. That's when I was like, " I HAVE FINALLY FOUND MY PEOPLE."
More cool exhibit stuff. It's kind of a bummer that stuff like this is a traveling exhibit and not a permanent fixture at the museum. Moving on:
A little bit about Sherlock throughout the years including a bit about the BBC version, with the "I AM SHERLOCKED" tshirt.
Sherlock paraphernalia, some old and some new. It was very interesting, cause I saw either an ad or a Goofy stuffed animal sporting the old deerstalker and pipe, and I was like, "Disney, Disney, Disney......"
This picture needs only one caption: CLUEDO!!! YAY!!!!!
And now, the most EPIC part of the exhibit: PROPS FROM THE SHERLOCK MOVIES WITH ROBERT DOWNEY JR.! Like the REAL ones. Again, I felt very close to the actual celebrities. Definitely a sherlockian's small piece of heaven.
More props, including the cattle prod Sherlock Holmes used in the first movie.
A prop used by one of the actors. It was definitely squeal city for me.
The typewriter John Watson used in the second movie.
This had me going, Robert Downey Jr. actually touched this. I am in heaven.
Sherlock's memorial plaque from A Game Of Shadows.
The chess set used in Sherlock and moriarty's great battle of wits.
The picture of The Woman, Irene Adler, as played by Rachel McAdams.
Accessories of Sherlock and John. Here you can see john's watch and came, and there's Sherlock's headphones, shoes, his picture of Irene and Irene's blood soaked handkerchief from when she met her untimely demise at Moriarty's hand.
Newspaper article about Lord Blackwood from the first movie. I have never felt so excited in my life at getting to look at this stuff in real life.
Well, that about does it for part one of the super awesome Sherlock exhibit!!! Happy weekend, everyone!!!!!
